Regular Posts Equals Regular Reading
I’ve tried to put myself into the frame of mind of a reader today, and visit multiple blog sites for ideas. But the only thing I truly got from the experience was a knowledge that as a reader, I would be very disappointed with my blog.
Regular updates are important, and I have some mighty bad posting habits. I’m an erratic blogger at best, and an unreliable blogger at worst.
So, since I never did get around to making myself any new year’s resolutions–of any kind–today is as good a day as any to decide to up the ante on my blogging.
My 2006 New Year’s Resolutions:
- Blog more — once weekly at worst, once daily if I can keep my fingernails clipped. (Aside: I cannot type with fingernails longer than 1/4 inch. Don’t ask me why.)
- Write new articles for my website — once monthly at best, because I don’t know how much I’ll have left to say after I’ve blogged four times a month.
- Write some fiction — whenever I can squeeze it in, or I should say, whenever it wants to squeeze out of me and I’m unable to stop it. :-)
- Devote more time to myself — because I have hobbies that are crying for my attention, and I’d hate to make them think I’d abandoned them.
That’s about as much as I want to commit myself to doing this year. Because the truth is that I have many more resolutions, unspoken though they are, that will clamor for my attention as the year progresses.
Have I mentioned I’m starting another house? Two-story this time, across the street and one lot down.
What can I say? I like the neighborhood.
