I used to be an avid reader and defined myself with the number of books I could read in a week. Not so much anymore.
Sometimes I like to pretend I still have time to read, and when I do, I read fantasy novels and romance novels, but not often a mix of the two. Lately, I’ve found myself reading more non-fiction and growing away from my interest in fiction.
Reading still holds pleasure for me, but I have other pursuits. I write a lot on the web, some fiction, but mostly other stuff, and I’d love to be able to make a living at it someday. (Note I said a living, not a killing. :-) It’s been hardest when I want it the most. And even a little harder when I think I don’t want it anymore.
I have moderate expectations of myself as a writer. I cook when I have to, and I vacuum every day before I sit down to write. Just because.
