A device I type on. Pencil and paper would be cheaper, of course, but doesn't allow large blocks of text to be deleted without the use of matches.

In all seriousness, writing is easier for me on the computer. I've had moments where paper and pen released a flow of words that had seemed damned while sitting in front of the computer monitor, but more often than not, the computer lets the story flow much faster.
