In Too Deep by Jayne Ann Krentz
In this latest mystery romance from Jayne Ann Krentz, Fallon Jones must help Isabella Valdez unravel a conspiracy that reaches into the heart of the Arcane Society. I've been looking forward to Fallon's story, since he's been a player in nearly every other Arcane Society series book. (Read more about the Arcane Society books)
The psychic elements are back, with the characters each possessing strong paranormal talents. I particularly enjoyed the dynamic between Isabella and Fallon and thought the romance was better than it has been in several other of the recent Arcane Society novels. The romance is sexy although the mystery holds equal importance in the story. Even the dullest Krentz novel usually outshines the competition and although this book isn't the author's best, In Too Deep certainly holds its own.
I recommend this one to any Krentz fan and also suggest you read the entire series. These books are especially suited to people who enjoy novels about psychic gifts and real mysteries, not just suspense. The romance is fun and warm, and all in all, the book left me feeling good--and wanting more! Those are always the best kind of books.
