Site Updates

Will be making some adjustments to the site, structurally, but I doubt they'll be noticeable to anyone visiting the site. We'll certainly see... :-)

Updates are in progress. I'm stripping out all non-working links, and I'll be adding new working links as I go or when I have new links to add.

Suggestions are welcome, but I'm somewhat selective. If you have useful information for other writers (by my standards), you're assured of having your link added. And I always appreciate any links you put up for this site!

The decision has been made. The HEA Newsletter will continue to be sent from Yahoo Groups. Sign up here if you want to get the newsletter.

We've had someone send in a chapter for the round robin! You can read the new chapter here. Also, I discovered that I had created the HEA Newsletter group at Google Groups. And Yahoo Groups. {Big sigh.} Now, before I send out the newsletter I have in the works, I'm going to have to figure out which to use! And finally, this month has seen an update in my articles. I've posted a new article detailing how to use the Windows Briefcase to keep your writing files in order. :-) Happy reading!

Looking for websites to add to my list of useful writers' sites, see note.

I'm still planning to update the Round Robin, simply because no one has sent in a chapter in I don't know how long, but I can't stand the idea of the RR dying a miserable, lonely death... (Tentative deadline moved to Mar. 31. I'm almost done with my WIP, and I can't stand the thought of working on anything else.)

I fixed the HEA Newletter. :-) Unfortunately, Yahoo went behind my back and deleted the newsletter group (I'm sure they might have sent an email or something, at some point, but I don't remember it... ;-). Anyway, the newsletter's alive again, and you can sign up by sending an email here: HEA_Newsletter-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

I couldn't stand to give up on my style sheets, so I spent some time researching CSS layouts that would give me the look I wanted without the problems my previous CSS layout caused. The tables are gone. Details of problems I've encountered during my converstion to XHTML and CSS: i love * style *

Completed a site-wide link check (all internal links should be working correctly, offsite links will be corrected this week as I have time to research them).
Deleted a couple of pages I never finished.
Added a direct link to the downloadable html versions of the Jane Austen e-texts.
Changed the filenames of my writing articles. I don't like to do this, but I needed to change the names so I could look at the file and know what it was without having to open it. (I have no idea what I was thinking when I named them by date. As if I can remember what I wrote on 200103...)

Tweaked the site layout.
Condensed the graphical menu and added a text menu at the bottom of each page.
Deleted the old update entries (since most of the links were out of date anyway).
Converted to a table layout to promote alternative browser compatibility.
Updated the copyright statement.
Moved the chapters of the online story up in the directory structure.
