Literary Agents and Agencies Who Represent Romance Fiction

There's more to getting an agent than you might realize. First, you have to decide that you need an agent. Then, of course, you have to decide which agent you want. Neither of these decisions are easy, but in comparison to actually finding an agent who believes in your work and is willing to take on the task of helping you place your novel with the right publisher, you'll probably conclude that the first two decisions were a ten minute warm up for a ten mile marathon.

The following resources offer a bit of advice followed by several places where you can go to find out more information about the agents and agencies you're targeting. Finally, there's a list of literary agents and agencies who represent or are looking to represent romance fiction.

Remember, researching an agent's history is a necessity. Scams, cons, and questionable practices abound, and your best defense against such practices is knowledge.
