High Expectations
I have high expectations for today, but I’m having a tough time getting started. So, I thought I’d put up my goals for the world to see (or my mom, if that’s the only person I can finagle into reading this thing! :). Considering the humilation I’ll suffer if my hubby sees this, maybe I’ll be more apt to reach them.
10 pages.
Since I compose reading material about as fast as I can calculate pI, this is a hefty goal. It’s 8:17 am by my clock. I’ll check back in when I’ve reached my goal–or 7pm, whichever comes sooner.
Maybe by then I’ll have something enlightening to say.
:-)

Terescia – good luck today! Hope the writing goes well :-)
Glad I’m not the only one who wonders how many people read their blog *g*.
And I really hear you on the “getting started” big. Motivating myself first thing in the day is ALWAYS difficult. Even though I’m always up early (cat purrs in face, then starts to bite and scratch if I don’t respond!)

Thanks! The writing did go well (although it’s not over yet). I’m at 5 pages, and although that sounds like such a small amount, I haven’t written a word since about 2 p.m. (and that was after a cushy lunch break).
I don’t know why, but I like writing after dark more than I like writing first thing in the morning.
As for my blog, you’re the first commenter *EVER* on this thing! Woohoo! :-)

Hey, five pages is better than none! And they do add up. I often write better later in the day as well – definitely past about 11 in the morning. My most productive time seems to be between 1 and 6, though if I’m fully caffienated I can keep going through till midnight *g*.
I know what you mean re comments. Always fun to see them. I don’t get many either.

Teresa,
I’ve been off caffeine for months now, because I swear I turn into a talking machine when I’m on it. I can’t write when my mouth is running, unfortunately.
Anyway, I made it to 7 pages. :-) Since that was my “real” goal, I was quite happy. If I say 7, I can be counted on to stop at 5, because ‘it’s close enough’ and if I say 10, I won’t stop until 7 or 8, because, well, it’s close enough. :-)
It’s all about the mind games around my house.

7 pages sounds pretty good to me! If you manage that 4 or 5 days in a week, you’ll make significant progress on the ms.
As for mindgames, I’m the queen. Just ask my dh *g* – he can’t believe the things I’ll do to trick myself – setting the clock forward so when the alarm goes off I still have extra time, typing on my ms so I don’t know how many pages I’ve typed, etc..
Hope you get more writing done today :-)

So, did you get the 10 page done? Remember set reasonable goals.
